രോഗവ്യാപന ഭീതിയില്‍ മനുഷ്യത്വം മറക്കരുത്: കര്‍ദിനാള്‍ മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരി
കാക്കനാട്: മനുഷ്യസമൂഹം നേരിട്ടിട്ടുള്ള ഭീകരമായ പകര്‍ച്ചവ്യാധികളിലൊന്നായി കൊറോണ വൈറസ്ബാധ മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍, വൈറസ് വ്യാപനഭീതിയില്‍ മനുഷ്യത്വം മറന്നുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്നു കര്‍ദിനാള്‍ മാര്‍ ജോര്‍ജ് ആലഞ്ചേരി.
രോഗവ്യാപനത്തിന്‍റെ ക്ഷിപ്രതയും രോഗത്തെ ചെറുക്കാന്‍ പര്യാപ്തമായ വാക്സിന്‍റെ അഭാവവും ജനങ്ങളുടെ ഭീതി വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഘടകങ്ങളാണ്. ഗുരുതരമായ ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തെ നേരിടുവാന്‍ സാഹോദര്യത്തിലും പരസ്പരമുള്ള കരുതലിലും എല്ലാവരും സഹകരിച്ചു പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കണമെന്നു സീറോമലബാര്‍സഭയുടെ കാര്യാലയമായ മൗണ്ട് സെന്‍റ് തോമസില്‍ നിന്നിറക്കിയ പത്രക്കുറിപ്പില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു.
രോഗബാധയില്‍ നിന്ന് എങ്ങനെ രക്ഷനേടാമെന്നു ഓരോരുത്തരും ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതോടൊപ്പം മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും രോഗം വരാതിരിക്കാനുള്ള കരുതല്‍ എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതാണ്. ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ വ്യക്തികളും, കുടുംബങ്ങളും ജോലിക്കൂട്ടായ്മകളുമൊക്കെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചെങ്കില്‍ മാത്രമേ ഈ മഹാമാരിയില്‍ നിന്നു നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹം മുക്തി നേടുകയുള്ളു. അതിനാല്‍ അനാവശ്യമായ ഭയത്തിനടിമകളാകാതെ പ്രതിരോധമാര്‍ഗങ്ങള്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ജീവിക്കുവാന്‍ പരിശീലിക്കേണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും കര്‍ദിനാള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
കൊറോണ വൈറസ് ബാധമൂലം മരണമടഞ്ഞവരുടെ സംസ്കാരവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് അടിസ്ഥാനരഹിതമായ ഭയവും അതില്‍ നിന്നുവരുന്ന മനുഷ്യത്വരഹിതമായ പെരുമാറ്റവും തികച്ചും വേദനാജനകമാണ്. കൊറോണ ബാധിച്ചു മരണമടയുന്ന വ്യക്തികള്‍ അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്ന ബഹുമാനവും മാനുഷികമായ അംഗീകാരവും നിഷേധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് ഒരു പരിഷ്കൃതസമൂഹത്തിനു ന്യായികരിക്കാവുന്നതല്ല. ഇത്തരം മരണ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളില്‍ ഭീതിപൂണ്ടു സമരങ്ങളിലേയ്ക്കും രാഷ്ട്രീയ മുതലെടുപ്പിലേയ്ക്കും നീങ്ങുന്നത് ഒട്ടും ആശാസ്യമല്ലെന്നും മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരി പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
കൊറോണ വൈറസ് ബാധമൂലം മരണമടഞ്ഞ ക്രൈസ്തവരുടെ മൃതസംസ്കാരകര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ ക്രൈസ്തവവിധി പ്രകാരം നടത്തുന്നതില്‍ ചില വീഴ്ചകള്‍ സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇനിയും അത്തരം വീഴ്ചകള്‍ സംഭവിക്കാതിരിക്കാന്‍ സഭാശുശ്രൂഷകരും വിശ്വാസികളും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ ആവശ്യമായ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങള്‍ വരുത്തുവാന്‍ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. ദൈവത്തോടും സഹോദരങ്ങളോടുമൊപ്പം നിന്നു മനുഷ്യസമൂഹത്തിന്‍റെ ഒരു കൂട്ടായ പരിശ്രമമായി ഈ മഹാമാരിയ്ക്കെതിരെയുള്ള പ്രതിരോധയജ്ഞത്തില്‍ പങ്കുചേരാന്‍ എല്ലാവരും സഹകരിക്കണമെന്നും മേജര്‍ ആര്‍ച്ചുബിഷപ്പ് തന്‍റെ പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു.

Don’t be Inhuman because of the Fear of the Spread of the Coronavirus: Cardinal Mar George Alencherry Cardinal Mar George Alencherry has appealed to people not to be inhuman at this time when the fear of the
Coronavirus, one of the most deadly viruses that have affected the world, is fast spreading in our country. Of course, the intensity of the spread of the virus as well as the absence of a preventive vaccine has accentuated
the fear among the people. The Cardinal in his appeal issued from the Archiepiscopal Curia of Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad, is asking everyone to face this situation through our brotherly feelings for one another.
We have to take special care individually not to be affected by the virus and also have to adopt preventive measures so that others are also not affected by this. We will be safe from the onslaught of this contagion only
if individuals, families, and communities take extremely careful measures. The Cardinal has urged the people to take very seriously the preventive measures suggested by the civil authorities for the prevention of the
spread of this virus.
It is deeply distressing to hear about the unruly behaviour and inhuman fear connected with the burial of those who lost their lives through the corona. It does not become proper for a civilized community to deny the
dignity and respect that the dead deserves. He further noted that it is inhuman to make political exploitations or to get into unruly upheavals on account of irrational fear.
There have occurred a few lapses in giving Christian burials to Christians who lost their lives because of the corona. All the ministers of the Church and the faithful should see that such lapses should not happen in the
future. The authorities have to make necessary arrangements for the avoidance of such lapses. The Major Archbishop asked all to cooperate in this massive effort on the part of humanity to prevent the spread of this
deadly virus in a spirit of faith and brotherly love, trusting in the providence of God.
