August 15th is a special solemn day for all Indians. Our great motherland won its independence and regained its dignity on this day. I am proud to be born and brought up in India – the land of unity in diversity and I salute all the true patriotic freedom fighters who sacrificed themselves for the noble cause of independence.
My grandfather was one of those gracious souls. Let us not spoil their toils and dreams.
The founding fathers of India dreamed of a nation where all men and women are treated equally in status and opportunity. The nation was built up from scratches towards unity, assuring the dignity of the individual and providing social, economic, and political justice for all. Various communities were brought to the national mainstream promoting fraternity, whilst ensuring the liberty of thought, expression, and belief. India emerged now as a strong economic superpower. But more has to be done to wipe out the barriers of caste, superstitions, and poverty from her lap. I greet all those who served and serve India and wish everyone a Happy Independence Day. Let us fly in glory, moments of freedom with love, and care for one another. Jai Bharath.
