LOVE DOESN’T START WITH A SHOE
Love doesn’t live in a diamond
or a candlelit dinner for two
Love isn’t just like the fairytale,
love doesn’t start with a shoe.
Love doesn’t need any money,
or a holiday in the sun.
Love doesn’t come with conditions,
or depend on the joy and the fun.
Love comes in everyday moments,
like a text to say ‘you’ll be just fine’.
Love is the call in the morning,
to start your day off with a shine.
Love is listening to worries
and giving your problems an ear.
Love is not giving up,
love is the need to be near.
Love isn’t always romantic,
it’s shouty, ugly, and true.
It’s the breaking and growing together,
Love doesn’t start with a shoe.
